"We installed 85 of Carmanah’s R829C Compact Solar School Zone Flashers at elementary schools throughout Snohomish County, and are pleased to report that we have had nothing but positive feedback from the public.

All 85 units have performed flawlessly throughout our exceptionally grey winter. One system was installed with the solar panel disconnected from the battery, resulting in an 'accidental' test of the system. The beacon operated without any solar charging for two months.

Carmanah's compact design allowed us to use 2" square sign posts, which were far easier to install than the typical 4.5" round poles. Two winter storms, with winds reaching 70 to 80 miles per hour, put this pole mounting option to the test. With the exception of two poles that were leaning slightly, all 85 units were unaffected.

We have been monitoring the effectiveness of these solar flashing beacons and preliminary results show that vehicle speeds are being reduced by at least five to seven miles per hour in our school zones. Your product has proven to be reliable and effective, and the programming software is intuitive and easily updated. "

"Carmanah's rigid mount, mast arm LED-illuminated signs on Ft. Myers Beach, Florida, withstood hurricane force winds with no problems. The slim design has been very well received by our staff (the installers as well as the observers). In addition, the signs look great when lit and do save on energy costs.
